Except SCSI/SCA-2, of course, which is specifically designed for that ;-)

VGA, however, is NOT SAFE. I know this because I once hot-plugged a 1942
monitor from an A2000, burning a track on the A2k motherboard out for about
six inches. Still, a bit of soldering and Paxtron didn't complain...

I also blew one of the onboard fuses on my A2k playing with stuff that draws
power from the joystick port. I believe A4ks are protected from this
stupidity, but not sure about the 1200.
